Some time ago I published a small selection of simple and, above all, inexpensive snacks that can be used in the learning process. These are not dog snacks, to which I have a rather cool attitude, but those products that you can buy in a regular store.In other words, our food.
You can buy them and use them immediately: come in, grab it, put it in your pocket and treat yourself to your health. They work, and I must say, quite well. But sometimes among dogs there are infections so persistent that the devil himself is no brother: store-bought treats cause them to be rejected at the genetic level. Simply put, they don't want to eat cheese and sausage, give them something mundane.
And here folk ingenuity comes to the rescue. Many owners have managed to cook absolutely armor delicacies without spending a lot of time or money. I saw it, tried to give it to dogs, appreciated the result and now I want to share it with you. Because I am sure: there are no "food non-workers" dogs, there are lazy owners who could not offer the dog something he really likes.
A few years ago I met a wild beagle that wouldn't eat cheese or sausage or anything. It was necessary to invent some magical means to make the dog fly towards us at full speed.I asked the owner why a dog drools more when the family goes out to eat? It turned out to be from fried chicken breasts. Raffle!
At my request, the hostess baked chicken fillets for the dog, without oil, without beating, but cut into thin slices, about 1-2 cm thick. It took a long time to make the meat as tough as possible, but not burnt : flawless breasts can dissolve into fibers, and this is terribly uncomfortable. No extra calories, no fat, just good carbs and fiber. Advantages - low price, ease of preparation and storage, minimal risk of unwanted side effects or allergies.
Disadvantages can be attributed only a narrow scope: not all dogs like crackers. For example, mine started turning up their noses. cheeky. Ok, so let's say you have a picky dog like me who doesn't like regular crackers. Let's test it further.

Snacks from the liver are insanely tasty, dogs are absolutely delighted and happily run to the owner to get another bite. Just keep in mind that liver is a fickle product and can cause indigestion in some dogs. So before you make a bunch of snacks, give your dog some liver and see how he handles it. In addition, boiled liver smells quite strongly and noticeably stains the hands, so it is not always convenient to work with it. Be careful with the quantity: the liver of all the offal listed is the most caloric.
It is very easy to make delicious treats from it. Cut the fresh liver into several large pieces and cook for half an hour. You can add some salt as an extra preservative, spices can be omitted, water can be changed as you like during the cooking process.
Boiled liver can be cut into cubes, divided into portions and put in the freezer. In principle, this will already be enough. But the flavor potential of liver is much higher, and I would suggest you have a little more fun with it.
Spread the chopped liver on parchment, put it on a baking sheet and put it in the oven at a low temperature, not above 60-80 degrees. In a conventional oven, this can be done by lowering the temperature to minimum with the controller and leaving the door ajar. To keep the door from closing, insert a small piece of wood into the slot - I use an old bottle opener.
Drying time 3 to 6 hours, some of my customers just leave the liver in the oven overnight. The smell is not too strong, the heat also. After three hours, the liver dries out, but remains soft, but at night it turns into wonderful crackers, very useful for lessons. The main advantage of dried liver is the absence of a strict need for storage in the freezer. The finished liver is quietly in the refrigerator, and even if you forget the bag in your jacket pocket after an evening walk, by morning it will not be a mass grave.Yes, the liver dries out, so don't cut too much when slicing.

While preparing to write an article, another recipe for delicacies from the liver was suggested to me. Roll 400 grams of liver and 2 raw carrots in a meat grinder, add 2 eggs and small oatmeal with flour, mix well. Flour and cereal to make the dough firm. Put in boiling water, cook for half an hour, remove the foam with a slotted spoon, then change the water and cook for another half hour. No salt should be added. Cool the finished heart, remove the fat, cut it into small convenient pieces and divide into portions in sachets. Freeze the bags accordingly. The treats are ready. You can optionally dry the heart in the oven, but I haven't heard of anyone experimenting with that yet. The pieces of a boiled heart are quite dense, so it is convenient to work with them, without getting your hands and clothes too dirty.
The fat content of the finished heart is low, so there are very few calories. But again, it should be taken into account that, like any by-product, heart in large quantities can cause indigestion and, of course, problems of individual intolerance. Allergies in the heart, I met extremely rarely.

If you have bought a fresh lung, you should boil or freeze it before doing anything with it - cutting, drying, etc. But at the same time, it contains almost no fat, does not boil and does not dry out, like the liver or the heart, and dogs love the lungs. Therefore, if there is free time and products in the store, with absolute priority beef or lamb is the most convenient and effective delicacy of all that I have tried. They work almost flawlessly.
So, before preparing delicious lung chips, the product must be frozen or boiled. With freezing, everything is clear, cooking will also not cause special problems. The lung cut into large pieces is cooked for about 20-25 minutes, it is possible without salt and spices.There is no point in soaking it before cooking, but you should remove the foam during the cooking process.
Cooked or slightly thawed lung cut into small portions (do not grind it too much, it will still dry), place it on parchment paper and place it on a baking sheet in a preheated oven. As in the case of the liver, the drying time is on average 3 to 6 hours, the temperature is about 60 degrees. After 3-4 hours, the lung remains soft, retains moisture inside, when it dries overnight, it turns into elegant chips. The advantages are obvious: minimal calories, the cost is literally a penny, storage does not cause problems, allergies are rare. And most importantly, dogs love it.
Lifehack from advanced owners: for drying meat products, you can use an electric dryer for mushrooms and fruits. Attention: during the drying process, grease and moisture are released from the by-products, which can cause large stains in the dryer. If the design of the device allows, place the products on parchment.
